PAN Pacific Hotels Group will debut in Kyoto through the addition of The Hotel Higashiyama Kyoto Tokyu to its Japan portfolio in 2025.
The hospitality company said on Monday (Jul 29) that the group signed a strategic partnership with Tokyu Hotels, following the launch of two hotels – Bellustar Tokyo and Hotel Groove Shinjuku – in Tokyo last year.
The partnership will tap into Pan Pacific’s global brands, international sales and marketing network across Asia-Pacific, Europe and North America, as well as its tech-supported distribution platforms.
The Hotel Higashiyama Kyoto Tokyu will be added to the group’s portfolio on Jan 10, 2025.
The hotel, which has been operating for two years, has 143 rooms. It is close to tourist attractions and public transportation such as the Higashiyama and Kyoto stations. It is also near the Gion district and within walking distance of Heian Shrine and the National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto.
The hotel also offers a cultural experience programme, Kyoto Iroha, that cultivates guests’ appreciation of Kyoto’s distinct aesthetics.

Amenities include a tea bar that showcases Japanese tea ceremonies, a 78-seater restaurant and bar, as well as three private baths.
Jun Murai, representative director and president of Tokyu Hotels and Resorts, said: “The hotel will open its doors to the world more widely as a place…that weaves together the unique local experience, traditional beauty and culture that the hotel has cherished since its opening.”
The Hotel Higashiyama Kyoto Tokyu will be added to Pan Pacific’s Discovery loyalty programme, which has 27 million members worldwide.
The two hotels that were launched last year are also part of the programme. Some 60 per cent of the group’s guests came from the programme, said Choe Peng Sum, chief executive officer of Pan Pacific Hotels Group.
Pan Pacific Hotels Group is a member of the Singapore-listed UOL Group. It manages three brands – Pan Pacific, Parkroyal Collection and Parkroyal.
